Tiller & Wheel was established to help ensure that organisations and individuals could work collaboratively to achieve a better future for all.
In 2024, we are pleased to be partnering up with the Cambria Trust, responsible for one of the mightiest sailing barges ever built.
Saved from dereliction by a vibrant supporters group and Heritage Lottery Funding, Cambria was relaunched following restoration in 2011 and has been a regular sight around the East Coast since.
However, as time has passed, the volunteers looking after her have slowly ebbed away and, as is an all too familiar story, the barge has become reliant on an ever smaller band of dedicated individuals.
As such, we are delighted as an organisation to be helping out in a small way by welcoming Cambria to Lower Halstow for much of the season and supporting her to take more people out on the water.
Ensuring a sustainable future for barges like Cambria is exactly what we want to achieve as an organisation.
