A GRAND CELEBRATION OF HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN’S RECORD BREAKING REIGN
On the afternoon of Saturday 4th June, the River Medway will play host to the Platinum Jubilee Medway River Pageant.
Featuring a parade from the lower reaches, up to Sun Pier, Chatham and culminating with ‘The Grand Cacophony’ – a wall of sound from ships to shore – the event will be a spectacle unlike any seen on the river for a generation.
For the public, Sun Pier will be hosting a ‘street party’ from 12pm to 5pm, with live music, food outlets and craft stalls where you can make your own ‘noisy implement’ to get involved with the Cacophony.
Vessel Owners – If you are interested in taking part in the event, please register an expression of interest by clicking the image below.
The event is likely to be popular and in order to maintain safe operations, there will be a restriction on the numbers taking part, so registration is not a guarantee of participation. We kindly ask vessels that have not registered or been allocated a place in the parade, to keep well clear of the active Pageant areas, particularly Sun Pier and Bridge Reach between 1400 and 1600hrs.
Friday 3rd June
Queenborough All Tide Landing will be hosting a social event for visiting crews. Moorings have been secured but are limited in number and will be pre-allocated. A secure anchorage can be found in nearby Stangate Creek, where water taxis will ferry crews ashore to Queenborough ATL.
